Let a thousand flowers bloom 2009
The work in commission for the new building of 2 primary schools together in Rotterdam, consists of 25 panels of printed canvas on which flowers are embroidered. The prints on the canvas are different ‘plegma’s’, made up out of the names of the schoolchildren written and connected to each other with vertical lines. The flowers were selected and embroidered in collaboration with a number of the schoolchildren’s mothers.
